カレン・マルダー（Karen Mulder, 1970年6月1日生）
カレン・マルダーは、スーパーモデルブーム到来と共にブレイクし、90年代に大活躍した、オランダ出身のスーパーモデルです。
また、初期VSエンジェルズの一人でもあります。
モデル事務所「エリート」のコンテストで2位に入ったことがきっかけで、モデルのキャリアをスタートさせました。
エリート・パリと契約し、パリコレのオートクチュールには必ず登場するほどの売れっ子モデルで、モデルの中でも際立って美しく、「カレン人形」も登場したほどです。
そんな彼女が初めてヴィクトリアズ・シークレットの広告に登場したのは1992年のこと。
まだ初のファッションショーも行われていなかった当時にヴィクトリアズ・シークレットの広告に登場していたのですから、その活動は意外に知られていなかったかもしれません。
しかし、ファッションショー以後はヴィクトリアズ・シークレットがメジャーブランドになり、カレンも広告撮影やCMなどにフル出演、VSスポークスモデルとして、その地位を確実にしました。
1998年～2000年までは、ファッションショーにも出演しています。
その後、彼女は第一線から姿を消しました。
うつ病になり、2002年にはパリの自宅で自殺未遂を起こし、そこでキャリアが完全にストップしてしまったのです。
現在に至るまで、かつてのVSモデルとしての輝かしいキャリアとは真逆とも言える現実を送っているようですが、彼女は必ず再生する、と多くのファンが信じて待っています。

She was sent to the finals of the Elite Model Management's contest, placing second, and started her career as a model.
She signed a contract with Elite Model Management and always appears in Haute Couture collections in Paris. She was remarkably beautiful among models, and she released a toy doll of herself, a Karen Mulder doll.
In 1992, she first appeared in advertising campaigns for Victoria's Secret.
